Inceptio Hits 1 Billion Autonomous Trucking km, Defines 'Freight Physical AI'
Inceptio Technology announced over 1 billion km of commercial autonomous trucking, holding more than 90% of China's market, and upgraded to a 'Freight Physical AI' strategy.
According to the company, its intelligent driving system now covers 97% of China's expressway network, serving customers in sectors such as priority express, less-than-truckload, cold chain, general cargo and milk tanker operations. Several leading delivery companies have made intelligent driving a 100% standard configuration for their heavy-truck purchases in 2026. The company says the trend is driven by wide recognition of benefits including safety, labor savings, reduced driver effort and lower fuel or gas consumption.
Reaching 1 billion kilometers marks both a scale and quality milestone for Inceptio's data assets, the company said. Based on freight-specific differences in vehicle physics, driving behavior, traffic interaction and transport scenarios, Inceptio has developed an original "Freight Physical AI" as its new technology foundation.
The technology incorporates three core capabilities. Freight-native intelligence embeds truck physical characteristics and real operating scenarios into an end-to-end model and a freight world model that rebuilds realistic interactions with other traffic participants to generate high-fidelity training and testing data. Scenario intelligence leverages the billion-kilometer data to establish a freight scenario recognition and management system, including a real-world operation scenario library containing hundreds of thousands of high-value scenes. Operational intelligence extends individual truck intelligence into fleet-level coordination through an "operations brain" cloud platform, consolidating risk and alert information to improve fleet-wide risk warning, energy optimization, route planning, and cost and efficiency management.
In trunk logistics, while maintaining a leading L2+ market share, Inceptio has obtained L4 road-test licenses in Zhejiang, Beijing, Hainan and other regions, and has started open-road L4 trunk demonstration freight operations with JD Logistics. In regional and city delivery, the company, together with SF Express and Chenglong brand of Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor, launched commercial pilot operation of driverless light trucks on public roads in May 2026. Overseas, Inceptio said it has made breakthroughs in Europe, Japan and the Middle East.
