Infor to Spotlight Industry-Specific Agentic AI at Velocity Week

Infor Velocity Week will examine industry-specific agentic AI and automation in enterprise workflows on Oct. 7.

The event arrives as agentic AI moves into production, and the harder question is becoming what enterprises will actually trust it to do. Infor is betting that industry-specific context can help bridge that gap. The company is embedding AI agents, process intelligence and automation into its applications as businesses look for ways to move beyond copilots and put AI to work inside operational workflows.

“As artificial intelligence agents move from experimental tools into production systems, enterprise governance is being forced to answer a harder question,” said Paul Nashawaty, principal analyst at theCUBE Research. “It is no longer enough to know what an agent did. Organizations increasingly need to prove what the agent was authorized to do, why it was allowed to take a specific action and whether that authority remained intact as tasks moved across multiple agents and systems.”

Infor has made industry specialization a central part of its AI strategy. In April, the company expanded its Industry AI Agent library to more than 100 agents and enhanced its Agentic Orchestrator, which coordinates agents across multistep workflows. The approach targets industries such as manufacturing, distribution, automotive and food and beverage, where AI systems need to understand specialized data, processes and operating requirements.

“Our industry-specific platforms, multi-tenant architecture and deep process intelligence give our agents a level of contextual precision that generic AI simply cannot replicate,” Chief Executive Officer Kevin Samuelson said when Infor announced new Velocity Suite capabilities. “We’re selling measurable outcomes for the industries by meeting our customers where they are with AI and providing a clear, simple and efficient path to where they want to be.”

That strategy also brings process intelligence into the equation. Infor is combining its Process Mining, Value+ automations, GenAI and Industry AI Agents so companies can identify bottlenecks and potentially hand more of the resulting work to automated systems. The challenge is moving those capabilities beyond isolated deployments.

Infor’s Enterprise AI Adoption Impact Index found that 49% of organizations surveyed remained in the early stages of AI deployment, while security, sovereignty, compliance, skills shortages and unclear return on investment continued to slow adoption. That leaves an important question for Velocity Week: whether industry knowledge and process context can give agentic AI enough grounding to become part of everyday enterprise operations rather than another layer of experimentation.

TheCUBE will examine how Infor is applying agentic AI across enterprise workflows and whether industry specialization can help turn AI investment into measurable business results. The livestream is scheduled for Oct. 7, and on-demand content will be available after the live event. Viewers can watch through theCUBE’s dedicated website and YouTube channel, and coverage from this year’s events can be accessed on SiliconANGLE.

At Infor Velocity Week, theCUBE analysts will talk with Infor leaders and industry experts about agentic AI, industry-specific applications, process intelligence, automation and what it takes to move AI from pilots into core enterprise workflows.
