iOS 27.2 Beta Brings Back Messages Suggestions After iOS 27 Delay

According to Apple's description cited by 9to5Mac, Messages offers one-tap suggestions based on the context of users' conversations, making it easier to create a reminder or a note. If someone asks for photos, Messages can help find the right ones by recognizing keywords, locations and people in the user's library. Suggestions appear as small action buttons beneath the messages they relate to. For example, if someone asks the user to do something, a suggestion to add it to Reminders or Notes may appear; if an event is mentioned, a suggestion can add it to Calendar.

9to5Mac said Suggestions worked well during the summer iOS 27 beta, but one complaint was that they sometimes appeared when the context did not justify them. The report said suggestions to add items to Notes, Reminders or Calendar could show up without a clear reason. Shortly before the fall public launch, Apple delayed the feature into a 'future software update.'

Now that Suggestions have returned in the iOS 27.2 beta, 9to5Mac said its testing has found fewer suggestions appearing in Messages conversations. When they do appear, the report said, it is always obvious why they are being suggested. That change may explain why the feature was pulled in the first place, according to the report.

9to5Mac said it hopes the feature makes the shipping version of iOS 27.2, which is expected in just a few weeks.
