Apple says the new ranking system in Mail will help users find what they need right away, even if the message is buried deep in their inbox. When users open search in iOS 27's Mail app, a banner at the top highlights "Expanded Search Results," according to the report. The banner explains that Mail can look for more results based on what users mean, not just the words they type. The 9to5Mac report said the author has used iOS 27 in beta for several months and found the search to be an upgrade over the old system. The report said there has not been a single time when a search failed to find something, though it noted that users' experiences may vary.
