iOS 27 Passwords app gains automatic password-changing feature powered by Apple Intelligence

According to 9to5Mac, iOS 27's Passwords app will use Apple Intelligence to automatically fix weak or compromised passwords, saving users time and hassle.

The Passwords app, which launched two years ago as a dedicated hub for logins, two-factor authentication codes, Wi-Fi credentials, passkeys, and more, has always alerted users to problematic passwords, such as those spotted in data leaks or reused across multiple accounts. Until now, users had to manually fix those logins themselves.

In iOS 27, Apple says its new agentic AI feature can often handle the task on the user's behalf. As stated on Apple's website: "Fix passwords with a tap. The Passwords app alerts you to weak or compromised passwords and can update them on your behalf without the hassle." This capability is designed to ensure that logins remain secure with strong passwords while minimizing the time and effort required from the user.

iOS 27 is currently in beta and will launch to all users in the next few weeks. The new Passwords feature is expected to ship in iOS 27.0, but its availability in the beta has been inconsistent, so it might be pushed into iOS 27.1.
