iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max Pre-Orders Slip to October Delivery, 9to5Mac Reports

Apple's iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max pre-orders are now showing October delivery for most US models, according to 9to5Mac. The earliest buyers still get their phones September 18, the day Apple Stores receive first stock.

Buyers who ordered earliest are still scheduled to receive their phones on Friday, September 18, the same day Apple Stores are expected to have first stock on hand, the report said. Orders placed after that initial window now face longer waits.

In the US Apple Store, the iPhone 18 Pro Max is quoted at October 6 to October 13 for every color and storage configuration, according to 9to5Mac. That puts the largest model's wait at close to a month from the pre-order date.

The smaller iPhone 18 Pro is listed at September 29 to October 6 across the same range of colors and capacities. The report described the situation as slightly better for that model, but said buyers are still likely to take delivery in October unless Apple hits the earliest target in its estimate.

9to5Mac said it is too early to judge how well the two models are selling overall, and that it is not yet clear how much the smaller flagship lineup this year will affect sales. The report treated delivery times already pushed out by several weeks as a positive sign.

The shipping windows cover all color and storage options for both phones, meaning buyers cannot shorten the wait by switching configurations through Apple's US online store. Apple has not publicly commented on the delivery estimates.
