IU to Release Self-Written Digital Single 'Unknown Planet' on Thursday
IU will release 'Unknown Planet' on Thursday at 6 p.m., her first music in a year. The single carries two lead tracks she wrote herself, both set for her sixth studio album.
The single, "Unknown Planet," will be available at 6 p.m. on all major music streaming platforms. It arrives one year after "Bye, Summer," a surprise digital single she put out on Sept. 10, 2025.
The project carries two lead tracks, "Unknown Planet" and "Dear My Crazy Soulmate," both written by IU herself. According to Edam Entertainment, the two songs will also appear on her upcoming sixth studio album, a release that had previously been delayed because of health concerns. The agency did not give a date for the album's release.
The music video for "Dear My Crazy Soulmate" will be unveiled together with the single, and IU appears in it as a police officer. The video for "Unknown Planet" is scheduled to debut at midnight Tuesday.
