JBL introduces Cove series of Wi-Fi speakers for whole-home audio
JBL has unveiled its new Cove series of Wi-Fi speakers, marking a shift from party speakers to whole-home audio, with models from $230 to $450.
The speakers are designed to be paired together via Wi-Fi and the JBL One app, enabling seamless listening throughout the house. JBL promises no interruptions and no need to ungroup devices or reset anything. The Cove speakers also integrate with JBL Bar Series MK2 soundbars, where they can be added as rear speakers for a simple home theater setup.
The series consists of three models. The Cove M1 is a standard speaker built for everyday listening, featuring three tweeters, one woofer, and AI sound boost technology, priced at $230. The Cove P1 is a portable, battery-powered speaker that can be moved throughout the home; it offers 14 hours of battery life per charge and Dolby Atmos integration, costing $400. The high-end Cove X1 includes four tweeters and two woofers, also with Dolby Atmos for room-filling audio, at a price of $450.
All three speakers will be available in black and white starting September 13. JBL describes the system as modular, allowing customers to buy speakers as needed to expand their setup.
