JBL unveils Cove home speaker line with three Wi-Fi models
JBL unveils three home Wi-Fi speakers in its new Cove line, available October 2026 with prices starting at €229.99.
Unlike JBL's portable Bluetooth speakers such as the Go 5 or Xtreme 5, the Cove series is intended for stationary home use. The speakers feature self-tuning that adjusts the sound to their surroundings, automatic balance to avoid distortion, and the ability to pair together for multi-room audio. They can also connect to the JBL Bar Mk2 to act as surround speakers for movies and TV.
Each model supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, with compatibility for Google Cast, AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, Roon Ready, Tidal Connect, and Qobuz Connect. TechRadar reported that support for Alexa+ is expected at some point after launch.
The cheapest model, the Cove M1, sells for €229.99 (about $260, £200, AU$400). It features two 30mm and one 20mm silk dome tweeters alongside a 4-inch woofer, and is the only model in the family lacking Dolby Atmos support. The battery-equipped Cove P1 is priced at €449.99 (about $520, £380, AU$760) and adds a 14-hour battery with a recharging dock and an IP56 rating, making it suitable for brief rain exposure. The flagship Cove X1, at €499.99 (about $580, £430, AU$860), uses four 30mm tweeters and two 4-inch woofers to deliver what JBL describes as "3D room-filling" sound.
TechRadar noted that the design of the Cove speakers closely resembles Denon's Home 200, 400, and 600 series. Given that the Denon Home 400 received a glowing review from the outlet, the Cove X1 faces stiff competition in the wireless speaker market.
