Jianying Launches Hub and Assistant, Linking AI Video Generation With Editing

Jianying launched Jianying Hub and Jianying Assistant at the Douyin Creator Conference, connecting AI video generation, storyboard planning and multi-track editing on PC and mobile, with new AI post-production, assistant skills and mobile creation tools.

On PC, Jianying Hub is placed on the app's home page and handles planning and generation. QbitAI reported that a test began with Seedream 5.0 Pro generating a commercial product image of a cream-white ceramic coffee cup. Users can then enter a storyboard script module, connect the image and script, and use asset management to generate related characters, props and scenes. A generate storyboard prompts button produces reference images and prompts for multiple video segments. After selecting Seedance 2.5, users can generate each segment and preview the assembled film without manually combining clips. Clicking more editing sends the generated video directly into Jianying's multi-track editing interface.

Within multi-track editing, Jianying added several AI functions. AI smart extend can lengthen a chosen clip with one click or by entering instructions. Local editing allows users to change a specific element in a generated video, such as turning a cup black, without returning to the infinite canvas. The AI editing section supports super-resolution, AI frame interpolation, color grading, AI removal and vocal separation. Jianying Assistant can be called up from a circular button on the left side of the multi-track editor and includes skills for cutting spoken content, making narration, correcting subtitles and batch production, all controlled by text commands. The PC version also includes professional color grading, Dolby Atmos and a plug-in ecosystem. The first phase is planned to launch more than 20 official high-quality Skills, with external skills to be introduced later.

Jianying Assistant is also available in Jianying Hub, according to QbitAI. Materials generated on ByteDance platforms such as Jimeng and Xiaoyunque can be imported with one click when users log in with a Jianying account.

On mobile, Jianying places a creation assistant, editing assistant and marketing assistant in the app. A shoot and make feature under AI Creation on the home page lets users submit footage and a written request. In a QbitAI test, three casual photos and a prompt asking for an approximately 15-second, 9:16 after-work coffee vlog produced a short video in one to two minutes. The mobile Jianying Assistant includes the same skills, allowing users to edit spoken videos, beat-synced videos and vlogs by tapping or speaking. A marketing expert can also generate marketing content from a product image, such as a down jacket, with a simple prompt.

QbitAI described the PC update as focused on preserving editing flexibility in complex projects, while the mobile update is aimed at reducing the burden of finding materials, locating buttons and repeating operations for everyday users. The update brings script writing, storyboard and asset generation, multi-track editing, local modification and assistant-driven operations into a more connected workflow. Jianying plans to expand its Skill and plug-in ecosystem, positioning the app as a workspace for different creation scenarios rather than only an automatic video-cutting tool.
