Jim Cramer's Charitable Trust Exits Honeywell Technologies Stake After 3% Loss
Jim Cramer's Charitable Trust sold its last Honeywell Technologies shares at about $209 each, exiting with a 3% loss.
Honeywell Technologies shares rose about 1% on Wednesday, bucking a broader market decline, after the company unveiled the platform, called Forge Cognition. The platform was developed with technology from Nvidia and server maker Dell and uses artificial intelligence agents and real-time digital twins to help operators improve asset reliability, energy efficiency and occupant comfort across existing systems and facilities, according to the Investing Club.
The trust said it was selling the rest of its small Honeywell position to replenish cash after a series of purchases over the past few days. It had already cut the position in half last month and downgraded it to a sell-into-strength 3 rating.
The exit closes a disappointing investment, the club said. Honeywell Technologies has not yet realized the benefits of becoming a standalone company after separating from Honeywell Aerospace, which has also struggled. The trust exited Honeywell Aerospace in August.
The club also said 2027 earnings per share estimates for Honeywell Technologies may still be too high based on previous management commentary. The company has said it expects 15% EPS growth in 2027. If Honeywell earns $8.35 per share in 2026, the high end of its current guidance range, and EPS grows 15% in 2027, 2027 earnings would be about $9.60 per share, below the current consensus estimate of $9.81, according to LSEG.
The club said rising interest rates that slow the economy could make beat-and-raise quarters less likely. It added that forward estimates need to come down, and stocks tend to struggle as EPS estimates move lower. That mismatch also played into the decision to exit the position.
The Investing Club said subscribers receive a trade alert before Cramer makes a trade. He waits 45 minutes after sending an alert before buying or selling a stock in the charitable trust's portfolio, and waits 72 hours after issuing an alert if he has discussed the stock on CNBC TV. The trust remains long Nvidia, the club said.
