Kia unveils PV7 electric purpose-built vehicle at IAA Transportation 2026
Kia introduced the PV7, its second purpose-built vehicle, at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hanover, Germany. The large electric PBV offers over 460 km of range and is set for launches in South Korea and Europe in late 2027.
Kia said the PV7 has a spacious, flat cabin and cargo area. It is equipped with a high-capacity battery, a high-efficiency electric drive system and an 800-volt charging architecture. The vehicle can travel more than 460 kilometers on a single charge and charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in around 25 minutes using a 350-kilowatt fast charger, the company said.
The automaker will initially launch two PV7 models, the PV7 Cargo Long and PV7 Passenger Long, in South Korea and Europe in the second half of 2027. Both vehicles are about 5.3 meters long. Kia said it plans to roll out 23 PV7 variants and conversion models in phases globally, using its flexible body system to expand its PBV lineup for commercial and mobility needs.
The PV7 follows Kia's PV5, which was introduced in February 2025 as the company's first dedicated PBV. Kia described the PV7 as part of a broader effort to offer vehicles designed for specific business and transport uses, rather than adapting passenger cars for commercial roles.
