'Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars' Returns to Apple TV for a Second Season

Apple TV's docuseries 'Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars' began its eight-episode second season on September 25, following 16 restaurants in Europe, the US and Brazil as they chase Michelin recognition.

According to 9to5Mac, the new season arrives less than a year after the show's first season debuted. The eight-episode run follows restaurants around the world as they try to earn, keep or add to their Michelin stars.

The series is hosted by food and travel expert Jesse Burgess and executive produced by Gordon Ramsay and Studio Ramsay Global. It chronicles restaurants, chefs and their teams, along with the work that goes into earning and maintaining Michelin recognition.

Apple said the season features 16 restaurants across Europe, the United States and Brazil, each at a different point in its pursuit of stars.

Describing the season's storylines, Apple said the show follows "16 restaurants at pivotal moments in their journeys." Among them, Apple said, are a chef and his family who risk everything to put a tiny island on Michelin's map, and two generations of a legendary culinary family pursuing recognition on their own terms. Two chefs voluntarily give up their star when they open a new restaurant and have 52 days to win it back, according to Apple's description. One sandwich shop transforms into a fine dining restaurant each night, while a young couple seeks to put Filipino cuisine at the center of one of America's most competitive dining scenes. Apple said that while the circumstances differ, each faces the same uncertainty over whether what they have strived for will be enough when Michelin makes its decision.

After the two-episode premiere, new episodes are scheduled to be released every Friday through November 6. A trailer for the second season has also been released.

Apple TV is available for $14.99 per month or as part of the Apple One bundle. Its lineup includes Ted Lasso, Severance, The Studio, The Morning Show, Shrinking and Silo.
