Leak Shows Siri AI Interface on HomePod With Revamped Status Lights
A leaker shared video and code evidence showing how Siri AI may appear on HomePod, as Apple is widely expected to bring the assistant to new home devices soon.
9to5Mac reported that Apple has not discussed future products, but rumors have circulated for months that Siri AI will come to new Apple TV 4K and HomePod devices expected for release soon. When Apple introduced Siri AI in June, the company made no mention of the assistant coming to tvOS or HomePod software. That omission led many to assume the new Siri would require hardware that has not yet been unveiled.
The leak included a post and video from pdfu. In a follow-up post, pdfu said it was unclear whether Siri AI would be tied exclusively to new hardware, but described that outcome as a near certainty. The report reasoned that if Apple planned to bring Siri AI to older HomePod models, it likely would have announced the feature in June. Apple's silence on Siri AI for Home products, the report said, strongly suggests a strict hardware requirement.
9to5Mac published two versions of its report, one referring to HomePod mini and another to HomePod more broadly; both described the same HomePod 27 code and revamped status lights. Apple has not commented on the leak or on Siri AI plans for HomePod and Apple TV.
