Leaked Images Show Unannounced Amazon Kindle and Redesigned Fire TV Stick 4K

Leaked marketing images show an unannounced Amazon Kindle in pastel colors and a redesigned Fire TV Stick 4K.

The Kindle images were shared by leaker Roland Quandt in a WinFuture write-up and show what appears to be a refined version of the entry-level Kindle Amazon released in 2024. Compared with the current base model, the device in the images has flatter edges, rounded corners on the display and a power button moved to the right-hand edge of the housing. There is no Amazon "smile" logo on the e-reader; the Kindle wordmark appears beneath the display and on the back.

Two versions of the device are represented in the images. One, shown in black, green and light blue, appears to have a pronounced Kindle Colorsoft-style lip around a display that sits flush with the housing. A second, shown in darker blue and lavender, appears to have a display that is not quite flush with the front of the device. Sample text is also laid out slightly differently on the two versions, with the second showing a proportionally larger Prologue heading and thicker margins around the body text.

What separates the two variants is not clear from the images. They could represent two sizes, with one version meant to be more pocketable than the other, or only one of them may be the model Amazon eventually sells. Pricing, specifications and availability are unknown, and Amazon has not said when it plans to announce the device.

The Fire TV Stick 4K images were obtained from WinFuture's independent retailer sources, according to the outlet, and show a new design for both the streaming stick and its remote. The remote has a flat top and a rounded bottom, making it less curvy than earlier remotes, and its button layout has changed: quick-access buttons for streaming services remain at the bottom, the button that summons Alexa now sits in the top right corner, and Amazon has added a backlit, animated home button. The stick itself has a more squared-off shape than before but still plugs into a television's HDMI port.

No specification sheet accompanied the images, so it is not known whether the new stick will run Vega OS, as the Fire TV Stick 4K Select does, or Fire OS. Amazon's last major hardware event was about a year ago, when it unveiled the 4K Select.
