Leaked Steam Achievements Spoil Upcoming and Unannounced Games, Report Says
Steam achievements for nearly 90 upcoming and unannounced games leaked on Exophase, exposing spoilers and fresh Valve security problems.
The leaked listings on Exophase include major plot points, character reveals, and weapon unlocks, even though full descriptions are missing. The affected roster also includes games that have not yet been given release dates, making it harder for players to avoid spoilers.
Mike Bendel, the owner of Exophase, described the incident as “a possible screw-up on Valve's end,” rather than a breach of the Steam platform itself. TechRadar said the leak appears to stem from an API exposure issue on Valve's side.
The achievement leak follows a much larger episode in which roughly 12 to 13 terabytes of early prototypes, unreleased games, and scrapped builds from between 2003 and 2013 were leaked from Steam. That earlier leak included titles such as GTA 5 and Left 4 Dead, as well as in-development builds of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and Forza Horizon 6.
Valve has not issued an official statement about either leak. The repeated lapses raise concerns for publishers who release games on Steam, as unannounced projects and plot details can surface publicly before launch.
