Leaker Points to Four Color Options for Apple's Rumored 'HomePad' Smart Home Hub
A leaker has posted images suggesting Apple's rumored smart home hub, known as 'HomePad,' could arrive in Silver, Space Gray, Starlight and Rose Pink, with a reported launch date of October 13.
pdfu posted images that appear to show the HomePad setup process, saying the hub may come in the four finishes listed above. In those images, the setup flow appears to default to certain preview art depending on the finish of the model being set up, so a Rose Pink unit and a Space Gray unit do not display identical visuals during configuration.
The same images indicate that the hub will offer watchOS-style customizable faces, which users can configure themselves, and they show Apple's "Photo Face" running on the device. They also provide a look at the square form factor of the hardware.
This is not the first claim pdfu has shared. The leaker recently revealed new features for iPhone Duo that, according to the same reporting, are likely to extend to HomePad as well. The color list and the setup images have not been confirmed by Apple, and the company has not commented on the product's name, launch date or configuration options.
