Leaks Detail Fitbit Edge Price, Display, Sensors and Battery Life
Leaks detail Google's Fitbit Edge, including reported pricing, a 1.34-inch OLED screen, sensors and battery life.
The Fitbit Edge is said to include a 1.34-inch always-on OLED touchscreen and run Fitbit OS with access to Google Play. It will connect to Android and iOS devices over Bluetooth. In addition to GPS, the leaked specifications list an accelerometer, a barometer, an altimeter, a gyroscope, multiple optical sensors for measuring heart rate and blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), and electrical sensors for capturing ECGs.
According to the leak, fitness monitoring will cover steps, distance, calories, skin temperature, sleep, cardiac load, and menstrual cycles. The tracker will also log activities including running, swimming, golf, and more than 40 different exercises, with real-time coaching and personalized fitness programs provided by Google Gemini. It will watch for signs of serious medical conditions such as atrial fibrillation and irregular heart rhythms and issue alerts when they are detected.
The Edge will use a user-replaceable lithium-ion battery rated for up to seven days of battery life. That figure drops to up to two days when the screen is always on. The device will carry an IP68 water resistance rating. It is expected to launch in four color options like the Pixel Watch 5: obsidian and matte black, olive and satin pyrite, canyon and champagne gold, and fog and polished silver.
The leaked details follow more images of the device that surfaced a few days earlier. The reported pricing, features, and launch colors remain unconfirmed.
