Lego Skylines Announced at Gamescom, A Cozy City Builder from Cities: Skylines II Studio
Lego Skylines, a cozy city builder from Iceflake Studios and Paradox Interactive, was unveiled at Gamescom Opening Night Live.
The project is being developed by Iceflake Studios, known to fans as the current team behind Cities: Skylines II. Paradox Interactive, longtime publisher of that franchise, removed original creator Colored Order from working on the sequel after a contentious launch that strained relations between the studio and the community. Paradox will also publish Lego Skylines.
The trailer showcases the colorful joy expected from a game bearing the legendary toy brand, combined with standard city-building concepts such as residential plots and the essential need for a fire brigade. After a difficult run, a fresh chapter appears to be emerging for the franchise. Engadget's Cities: Skylines fans have been satisfied with Iceflake's work so far, sparking hope that they can carry that positivity into this new title.
