Lenovo Googlebook 15 Leak Reveals Premium OLED Display, Intel Core Ultra 5 Chip

Android Authority reported the full leaked specification list. It includes a 15.3-inch 120Hz OLED display, an Intel Core Ultra 5 325 chip and up to 32GB of RAM. The laptop could also carry a 70Wh battery, Wi-Fi 7, dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI, a fingerprint reader and a Google-colored battery or charging light on the lid. Lenovo is also preparing a dedicated Google key and an “AI Mouse” accessory, according to the report.

Engadget, citing MacObserver, reported similar premium components but described the processor more generally as an Intel Core Ultra 5 chip. MacObserver said the display will offer 2,880 x 1,800 resolution and up to 500 nits of peak brightness, and Engadget described it as a touchscreen. The leak also points to 16GB or 32GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage. The Googlebook 15 will reportedly include a multicolored LED “glowbar,” a hardware feature Google has tied to the Googlebook platform.

The specifications would exceed Google’s Chromebook Plus requirements, which called for at least 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage and either an Intel Core or AMD Ryzen 700 series processor to unlock exclusive AI features. Googlebooks are designed from the ground up for Gemini Intelligence, and Google has detailed features such as Magic Cursor, which turns the mouse cursor into a contextual prompting tool for Gemini. Android phone integration is also central to the software experience.

Lenovo is reportedly working on more than one device for Google, including a tablet with a detachable trackpad and keyboard and a more traditional laptop. The Googlebook 15 appears to be the traditional laptop. No Googlebook has been released yet, but multiple companies are actively developing models. Google has scheduled an official launch for later this year, and ChromeUnboxed reported in August that Google will host a media event on September 15 to preview the first wave of Googlebooks. Pricing for the Lenovo Googlebook 15 has not been reported, though the leaked components suggest it will cost more than most Chromebooks.
