Lenovo Googlebook 2-in-1 resurfaces in new leaked images
A new leak shows Lenovo's unannounced Googlebook 2-in-1 with a tablet layout, a rear kickstand and a slimmer keyboard, after the device was left out of Google's Googlebook launch this week.
The images were posted on X by Evan Blass, a leaker Android Authority describes as credible. The render is an enhanced version of an image that leaked last month, and it shows the Googlebook 2-in-1 with a tablet-like layout, a kickstand at the back and a keyboard that is slimmer than those on other models in the line-up. Android Authority says the new image gives a better look at the device than the earlier one.
Blass did not indicate whether the device has been canceled or is still waiting for a release. Android Authority said it hopes the latter is the case.
The 2-in-1 differs from the rest of the family in its form factor. A tablet-first design with a detachable keyboard was previously used by Lenovo on the Chromebook Duet, rather than the clamshell shape of the laptops Google introduced this week.
Google released five Googlebook laptops earlier in the week. The company describes them as offering an Android-based software experience inspired by lessons from ChromeOS, with the hardware handled by established PC and laptop manufacturers. Lenovo is among those manufacturers, and its Googlebook 15 is the most affordable model in the range.
Lenovo had previously been leaked as having several devices planned for launch, but only one of them appeared at the main event. That leaves the Googlebook 2-in-1 as an unconfirmed addition to the line, with no word from the company on when, or whether, it will reach shelves.
