Lenovo Legion Go S with SteamOS discounted to $999.99 at Best Buy
Lenovo’s SteamOS Legion Go S drops to $999.99 at Best Buy, with an 8-inch 120Hz screen, 32GB RAM and 1TB storage.
The discounted configuration also has 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, double the Steam Deck OLED’s memory and storage, along with a Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor that The Verge describes as slightly faster. The publication calls the Legion Go S a solid alternative to the Steam Deck OLED and says it is worth considering at its current price.
The Legion Go S is not as powerful as the $1,299.99 Asus ROG Xbox Ally X20, which has a Z2 Extreme chip and an OLED screen, according to The Verge, but the publication says it is no slouch. The model that launched with Windows 11 and the Ryzen Z2 Go uses a newer chip but is less powerful than the Z1 Extreme in the discounted SteamOS configuration, The Verge reported.
The Verge said SteamOS and the faster internals in the discounted configuration should provide a better experience. Sean Hollister of The Verge reviewed multiple configurations of the Go S and benchmarked them, the report noted.
