Lexus launches all-new ES sedan in South Korea with model's first all-electric variant

Lexus Korea launched the eighth-generation ES sedan on Oct. 13, 2026, offering the model's first all-electric variant alongside upgraded hybrids.

The eighth-generation ES is a complete redesign of the luxury sedan, which Lexus first introduced in 1989. According to Yonhap, the launch is part of the brand's expansion of its electrified lineup.

The all-electric ES 350e has a driving range of up to 478 kilometers on a single charge, the report said, and its battery can be recharged from 10 percent to 80 percent in approximately 28 minutes.

The new ES lineup consists of five battery electric variants and four hybrid electric variants. Prices range from 71.6 million won (US$53,564) to 84.9 million won, Yonhap reported.

The ES is one of Lexus's longest-running nameplates, having been sold since 1989, and the eighth generation is the first to add a purely electric option to the existing hybrid offering, according to the report.
