LG UltraFine Evo 32U990A-S Hits Record-Low $1,099 on Amazon, TechRadar Reports
TechRadar reports the LG UltraFine Evo 32U990A-S 6K monitor has dropped to $1,099 on Amazon, its lowest price ever.
The monitor uses a 32-inch Nano IPS Black panel with a 6,144 by 3,456 resolution, a pixel density of 224 PPI and more than 21 million pixels. TechRadar listed its connectivity as Thunderbolt 5, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1, 96W power delivery and built-in speakers. The display covers 99.5% of Adobe RGB and 98% of DCI-P3, supports true 10-bit color and offers a 2,000:1 contrast ratio.
In a review cited by TechRadar, reviewer Jeremy called the screen "astonishingly sharp" because of its native 6K resolution and praised its "great connectivity, including Thunderbolt 5." The publication explained that a 4K display contains about eight million pixels, while this 6K panel has more than 21 million, giving additional working space.
TechRadar said the $1,099 price is historically low for a 6K monitor, which usually sits at the top of the professional display market. It also noted that buyers can find excellent 4K OLED monitors at a similar or lower price, with stronger contrast and faster response, making the UltraFine Evo's value dependent on how much the extra resolution benefits the user's work.
The article recommended the UltraFine Evo for people working with high-resolution photos, 6K video or detailed graphics, but advised against it for users who prioritize OLED-level contrast and black levels. The reviewer found the LG's IPS Black image somewhat washed out next to a modern OLED, and the monitor's 60Hz refresh rate and 5ms response time were relatively slow. HDR quality is also limited because the DisplayHDR 600 backlight is edge-lit instead of using full-array local dimming.
In addition, TechRadar reported that the monitor's plastic-and-metal build does not feel as premium as its price suggests, and the large external power brick makes the setup less tidy. Its matte anti-glare coating may show a slight visible sparkle on some content.
