According to TechRadar, the Like-New device is tested and certified by Amazon and comes with the same limited warranty as a brand-new Scribe. The publication's hardware editor purchased the same Like-New unit and said it showed no signs of use. However, Amazon notes that Like-New devices may arrive in generic Amazon-branded packaging, which could affect those buying the product as a gift.

The Kindle Scribe has been praised as the best writing tablet by TechRadar's expert reviewer, who gave it four-and-a-half stars. The reviewer highlighted that Amazon has added AI features, including better handwriting recognition and note summaries, making the Scribe even more competitive as a writing tablet while retaining its strength as a large e-reader. The device is specifically designed for professionals who want to replace both a Kindle e-reader and paper notebooks for handwritten notes, lists, and meeting notes.

While the current price of $320 is $85 off the usual $405, the model has been cheaper in the past. TechRadar notes that the 64GB Scribe sold for as low as $279 in late 2025 and early 2026.
