Logitech G Launches Yeti 2 Streaming Microphone With AI Denoising and Built-In Screen

The original Yeti launched in 2009 and became a widely used choice for people starting in streaming and content creation. It was relatively affordable and offered plug-and-play performance for its time. Blue Microphones, the original manufacturer, was acquired by Logitech in 2023 and gradually folded into the Logitech G portfolio. The old model is still being made and remains a popular option, according to TechRadar.

The Yeti 2 keeps the pill-shaped look of its predecessor but uses a redesigned array with three capsules. A new 1.3-inch screen can show settings such as gain and pickup pattern. It can also display an animated mascot whose expression changes when the user is too loud or too quiet. The default character is a pixel-art yeti, and Logitech G offers other preset characters and the option to upload images to create a custom one, TechRadar reported.

A senior global product marketing manager at Logitech G, identified as SM, told TechRadar that making the Yeti 2 easy to use was a key priority. The microphone includes an adjustable AI-powered denoiser that cuts background sounds and runs locally on the device without PC software. A built-in proximity sensor, which SM stressed is not a camera, tracks the position of the user's face and distance from the microphone, then automatically adapts pickup pattern, EQ and gain in real time.

The Yeti 2 is priced at $159.99, £139.99 or AU$249.95, undercutting premium alternatives such as the SteelSeries Alias and Shure MV7+, according to TechRadar. The launch brings Logitech G's streaming microphone line into direct competition with those higher-priced models while retaining the familiar Yeti design.
