Logitech G Pro X3 Superstrike Adds a Faster Sensor and Longer Battery Life at a Higher Price

Logitech's G Pro X3 Superstrike adds a 48,000 DPI sensor, a 59g body and a longer battery claim, at a higher price.

The X3 retains the HITS switches — haptic inductive trigger system — introduced on the X2 earlier this year. They let users set the actuation point of the two main mouse buttons in the Logitech G Hub software, so a hair trigger can cut click latency in competitive shooters such as Counter-Strike 2, while deeper clicks suit slower strategy games or productivity work. The strength of haptic feedback per press can also be adjusted, from almost none to a firm click. TechRadar describes the switches as extremely durable and still second to none.

The exterior is largely unchanged: a right-handed shape, two customizable side buttons and a restrained look. Two colorways have been added, Midnight Black and Magenta Eclipse, a pink and black finish.

Inside, Logitech G reworked the weight distribution to make the mouse less top-heavy. At 59g it is marginally lighter than before, and TechRadar reports that the more even balance makes it slide more smoothly in the hand. A new NxLOGI chipset is used for greater power efficiency. Logitech G claims 135 hours of battery life per charge, an increase of 45 hours over the previous model. The reviewer did not quite reach that figure but said the mouse lasted a full week of daily use with click haptics enabled.

The upgraded Hero 2 sensor raises sensitivity from the X2's 44,000 DPI to 48,000 DPI and tracking speed from 888 IPS to 930 IPS. An 8,000Hz polling rate, previously restricted to wireless mode, is now also available when the mouse is used wired. TechRadar found the mouse responsive and accurate during repeated sessions of Counter-Strike 2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.

On price, the X3 sits in premium territory. In the United States and United Kingdom it costs more than the X2, which is listed at $179.99 / £159.99 / AU$299.95. In Australia the two models share the same AU$299.95 price, which TechRadar says makes the X3 the obvious pick in that market.

TechRadar's verdict is that the X3 is not the revolution its predecessor was, and that the changes are too few to fully justify the X3 name, but it remains a best-in-class product. The review highlights the upgraded sensor, the improved weight distribution, the HITS switches and the battery life as reasons to buy, and lists the modest upgrades and the price rise as reasons to avoid. Value was scored at 4.5 out of 5.

Editor's Summary

Logitech's G Pro X3 Superstrike updates the X2 with a 48,000 DPI Hero 2 sensor, a more balanced 59g body, an NxLOGI chipset and a claimed 135-hour battery life, at $199.99 / £169.99 / AU$299.95. TechRadar judges the changes worthwhile but not revolutionary, noting that the HITS switches and overall performance keep it at the top of its class despite the higher price. In Australia, where it costs the same as the X2, the newer model is the clear choice of the two.
