Logitech MX Keypad brings AI coding shortcuts to developers for $99

The MX Keypad offers nine customizable full-color LCD keys that can be assigned to launch commands, run macros, and access AI tools. Logitech says the product was developed alongside GitHub and is available in two color schemes. It is designed to act as a control center that reduces the need to switch between applications, though the keys can also control non-coding apps.

At launch, the keypad includes native integration with GitHub, Visual Studio Code, and GitHub Copilot. Developers can also create and share their own integrations using the Logi Actions SDK. Community-built plugins for tools such as Claude Code and OpenAI Codex are already available, along with plugins created and tested by developers for GitHub Copilot and Claude Code.

Hardware specifications remain modest: the keypad is roughly the width of a Logitech mouse, weighs 96 grams, and connects via USB-C. It requires macOS 13 or later or Windows 10 or later. Logitech also emphasizes sustainability, with certified post-consumer recycled plastic making up 64% of the graphite model and 49% of the pale gray model.

Priced at $99, the MX Keypad is positioned as a more streamlined alternative to Logitech's existing MX Creative Console, which costs $199.99 and adds a separate dialpad. The company says the new device offers a simplified way for developers to manage AI-heavy workflows.
