M4 iPad Air Gets 21% Discount on Amazon Australia Ahead of iPhone Duo Pre-Orders
Amazon Australia is selling the 2026 11-inch M4 iPad Air at a 21% discount, with the 128GB model at AU$987, as iPhone Duo pre-orders approach.
According to TechRadar, the discount is the biggest on the 11-inch M4 iPad Air since a July price increase. Purple and Starlight models are available at AU$987, while Space Grey and Blue cost AU$1 more. The 256GB iPad Air is AU$200 more, and the 13-inch model starts at AU$1,287, also a 20% discount.
TechRadar said the 2026 iPad Air has no real design changes from the previous model, but adds the M4 chip, extra RAM and improved connectivity, making it more powerful than earlier generations. The report said those upgrades should handle photo and video editing, gaming, multitasking and general computing tasks easily, though the display remains capped at 60Hz, compared with the iPad Pro's 120Hz ProMotion display.
The report noted that the 11-inch iPad Air is less portable than the iPhone Duo even when the phone is unfolded, but it offers a larger, vibrant screen for entertainment and Apple Pencil note-taking. It said the tablet is not a must-have upgrade for owners of recent M3 or M2 iPad Air models, but would deliver a significant performance boost over older iPad Airs, base-model iPads and some older iPad Pros.
TechRadar added that buying the discounted iPad Air alongside a 256GB iPhone 18 Pro Max, which costs AU$2,297, totals AU$3,287, less than the iPhone Duo's starting price. The report described the iPad Air as "the pro model tablet for most people" and said an actual iPad paired with a current iPhone was the better value option.
