macOS 27 Golden Gate beta 6 adds fifth dynamic wallpaper

9to5Mac reports that when Apple announced macOS 27 Golden Gate during WWDC26, the company showed the same system wallpaper across all its operating systems, featuring a stylized 27. After a couple of developer betas, Apple began adding dynamic screensavers that double as wallpapers, featuring slow-motion footage overlooking San Francisco’s iconic Golden Gate Bridge. When the Mac is unlocked, the screensaver gradually comes to a stop, leaving behind a fresh and slightly different wallpaper each time.

The publication has published a gallery of static frames from each of the five videos, plus light and dark versions of the generic stylized 27 wallpaper. Readers can click the images to save full-resolution versions.

For those who want to set a custom wallpaper, 9to5Mac outlines several methods. Users can go to System Settings > Wallpaper, scroll down to Your Photos, and click the Add Photo button. From there, they can choose a photo from the Photos library, choose an image file, or drag an image from their desktop onto the thumbnail. They can also add a folder from the Finder, or select an album or folder from the Photos app.

According to Apple, users can also set custom wallpaper without opening Wallpaper settings. In the Photos app, they can select a photo and click Set Wallpaper. In Safari, they can control-click an image and choose Use Image as Desktop Wallpaper. In Finder, they can control-click an image file and choose Set Desktop Picture.
