MacWhisper 15.2 Adds Real-Time Meeting Transcripts and NVIDIA-Powered Speaker Recognition

The update introduces speaker recognition powered by NVIDIA's Nemotron 3 Diarization model, which had been announced hours earlier, 9to5Mac reported. The feature supports up to eight speakers and can be used during live meetings inside the app's new realtime meeting view.

The realtime meeting view allows users to follow, refer back to, copy or transfer a live transcript as a meeting unfolds. The transcript window can be kept above other apps, and the recording and transcript are saved when the meeting ends, according to the report.

MacWhisper 15.2 also adds Alibaba's QWEN3-ASR transcription model, with support for 22 languages. It expands integration with Apple Intelligence, Siri, Spotlight and Shortcuts on macOS 27. Users running macOS, including in the European Union, can search for transcripts system-wide, open them with Siri, pull their text into Shortcuts and refer to the transcript currently on screen in Siri or Apple Intelligence requests.

The release adds folders and subfolders for organizing transcripts and meetings. Existing transcriptions can be dragged into them from the sidebar.

MacWhisper was one of the first AI-powered transcription tools for the Mac. Since Bruin launched it in 2023, the app has added automatic meeting recording and speaker recognition, watched folders, system-wide dictation, local and cloud AI models, and integrations with services including Notion, Zapier, Obsidian and n8n.
