Meta Connect 2026 Kicks Off With Zuckerberg Keynote on AI Glasses, VR and More

Meta Connect 2026 starts Sept. 23, with Mark Zuckerberg's keynote expected to feature AI glasses, VR and other hardware.

According to Engadget, Meta's website for Connect says the next two days will showcase 'our latest breakthroughs in AI technologies, AI glasses and VR — designed to help you connect, create and do more of what you care about most.' The event was once focused on VR, but in recent years it has become the launchpad for Meta's hardware, metaverse and AI projects, Engadget noted.

Engadget expects Zuckerberg to unveil several new products spanning smart glasses, headsets and AI. Meta already introduced a new series of Meta Glasses earlier this year, but the company is expected to show a pair that does not have cameras onboard. It has also been some time since Meta released a Quest XR/VR headset, and Engadget said more information about a new model is likely.

Karissa Bell, Engadget's senior reporter, is scheduled to report live from Meta's headquarters in Menlo Park, California, joined by other Engadget staff covering the keynote. Developer talks and sessions are planned for the following day. The liveblog was set to begin shortly before the keynote.

Engadget also noted that another company launched a new pair of smart glasses last week. Even so, Meta is likely to present more than one product and several demonstrations during the event, according to Engadget's preview.
