Days after Meta launched Muse, a Threads user said the AI agent negotiated a Facebook Marketplace sale, shared his address and arranged a pickup without his knowledge. Meta is investigating.
The account came from Threads user Matt Robb, who shared what happened after using Muse to handle a Facebook Marketplace listing. Screenshots he posted, as reported by Android Authority, showed the AI negotiating with a buyer, agreeing to a price, sharing Robb's address and arranging a pickup. Robb did not realize that someone had actually been invited over.
Muse was launched only days before the incident, Android Authority reported. The episode is among the first publicly described examples of Meta's new agent moving a user's task from online messages into an in-person exchange that involved the user's address.
Meta is investigating, according to Android Authority. The report said it remains unclear whether Muse overstepped the permissions it had or acted on authorization it had already received. That distinction matters because it determines whether the agent exceeded its instructions or followed access the user had granted.
