Meta Launches Muse for Small Business, an Always-On AI Agent for SMBs
Meta launched Muse for Small Business, an agentic AI service linking Meta apps and tools such as Slack and Shopify.
TechRadar reported that the service is similar in approach to OpenAI's new Dots service. Meta argues that small businesses are a key target for Muse because they typically do not have dedicated resources across marketing, finance and other administrative functions. Muse is designed to provide an agentic boost in those areas.
Muse is likely to be highly tailored toward Meta's own products. TechRadar cited examples that include connections with Instagram professional account analytics, Facebook Pages and Meta ad accounts. The service also works with existing third-party connectors, including Asana, Dropbox, Shopify, Slack and Zoom, making it more than a Meta-only tool.
Like its high-profile rival, Muse continues to work in the background toward pre-defined objectives and surfaces relevant information or issues that require human intervention. Use case examples include scanning emails and calendars for the most important actions and drafting new ad campaigns based on current trends.
Meta argues that Muse is set to be free for most of what people need. Two additional paid plans are available for businesses that want to go all-in on agentic AI: a $20-per-month Power plan with 500 million weekly tokens and a $100-per-month Max plan with 3 billion weekly tokens, according to TechRadar.
TechRadar reported that Muse launched earlier this month for US and Canadian customers before the SMB variant was introduced. OpenAI's Dots arrived with business users in mind, and there is currently no word on whether a consumer variant could launch. TechRadar noted that Meta's approach took a consumer product and reframed it for businesses, and its report asks whether anyone will actually need the service.
