Microsoft PowerToys 0.102 Adds Mouse Button Lock and CursorHide

Microsoft's PowerToys version 0.102 introduces Mouse Button Lock for easier text selection and CursorHide to hide the cursor during typing or inactivity, ZDNet reports.

Mouse Button Lock allows users to hold down a mouse button for a configurable duration—set in milliseconds—and then release it. Moving the mouse afterward automatically selects text along the path until the user clicks again to stop. While Windows already offers a similar ClickLock feature, the PowerToys version is more versatile: it lets users choose the left, right, or middle mouse button as the trigger, set precise durations, and define a pixel distance for the selection to remain active. ZDNet reported that this makes selecting long passages across multiple pages easier.

CursorHide hides the mouse cursor during keyboard input or after a period of inactivity, or both. Users can set the inactivity delay from 1 to 60 seconds. The tool is available in the Mouse Utilities section of PowerToys.

The new version can be installed from the Microsoft Store or GitHub, and existing users can update through the app. PowerToys now includes more than 30 tools, ZDNet noted.
