Microsoft to scale Azure Maia AI deployments from 2027; OnePlus, Google and Meta unveil new products

Microsoft said it will expand Azure Maia AI systems to several gigawatts from 2027 and make them its main inference platform, while OnePlus, Google, CMF, LineageOS and Meta announced new devices, software and AI models.

The third-generation Maia 300 will begin production deployment in 2027 and will target long-context inference, low-latency conversation and continuously executing multi-step agent tasks. Microsoft expects Maia 300 to handle 40 percent more tokens per megawatt than leading GPU systems. A full rack with 96 accelerators can reach up to seven times the token throughput of Maia 200, the company said. The system uses a multi-chiplet design, with compute chiplets made on TSMC's N2P process; each accelerator has eight HBM4 stacks, 18 TB/s peak memory bandwidth and a 950-watt thermal design power. Maia 200 is already in production, supports Microsoft Copilot and runs OpenAI, Microsoft MAI and mainstream open-source models. Microsoft plans to use it for GitHub Copilot and Microsoft Foundry by the end of this year and is expanding deployment in the United States, Europe and Australia.

Meta released its Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full models for agentic tasks on October 12. The models build on Muse Spark and are designed to strengthen task handling in personal and professional settings, including organizing insurance claims, understanding leases, analyzing financial information and writing games and applications, which Meta said reaches a leading level. They add Active Memory and Active Focus to retain and call relevant information across conversations, keep complex tasks moving, try alternative approaches and recover from errors. Muse Wonder is available to developers through Meta Model API and Muse Code, while Muse Wonder Full is offered to Muse Code subscribers. Muse Wonder will also be used in the personal AI agent Muse, with priority access for subscribers.

OnePlus launched the OnePlus 16 on October 12. The phone uses a sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Super Ultimate mobile platform and a fourth-generation Oriental Screen with custom BOE X4 light-emitting material. The 6.78-inch display supports up to 185Hz refresh rate in games, a global 165Hz rate in daily use, 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, 3840Hz PWM dimming and DC-like dimming. It has a 9000mAh battery with 100W Super Flash Charge and 100W UFCS fusion fast charging, and supports IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K dust and water resistance. The camera system includes a 200-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel 3x periscope telephoto camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and the LUMO imaging system. It comes in Dark Forest, Tomorrow Starlight and Mars Masterpiece colors, starting at 5,999 yuan for 12GB+256GB, with a first-sale price of 5,699 yuan and a price of 5,199 yuan after national subsidy. The Fitbit Edge has a 100 percent recycled aluminum housing, silicone or stainless steel straps and a 17.7-gram body. Its 1.34-inch AMOLED display is paired with an Ambiq AP5 MCU, Bluetooth 5.4, a 65mAh battery and up to seven days of battery life. It includes 64MB of storage for up to seven days of minute-scale detailed exercise data and has blood oxygen, ECG, PPG and temperature sensors. It comes in olive green, obsidian, mist blue and canyon red, priced at $179.99, with a Curry co-branded black rye version at $219.99.

CMF, a brand under Nothing, launched its first Bluetooth speaker series with the CMF Speaker M and CMF Speaker S. The speakers use a milk-carton-like design, a carabiner hook and detachable panels that support user-made 3D-printed custom panels. The Speaker S has a 10-watt 45mm full-range driver and dual passive radiators, while the Speaker M has a 25-watt 70mm woofer and a 10-watt 16mm tweeter. Both support Bluetooth 6.0, NFC pairing, Fast Pair, multipoint connection and USB-C low-latency audio. Two speakers of the same model can form a stereo pair, and Auracast-compatible multi-speaker synchronized playback is also supported. At 50 percent volume with Ultra Bass on, the speakers last up to 18 hours, and a 10-minute charge provides about one hour of playback. They come in white, dark gray, orange and teal, with the Speaker S priced at $59 and the Speaker M at $109.

The LineageOS project released its 32nd changelog on October 11 and announced LineageOS 24.0 stable based on Android 17. The team said 24.0 has reached a level of functionality and stability comparable to 23.2, and the first supported devices will receive official builds, with more models to follow as maintainers are ready. The project has merged security patches from August 2025 to October 2026 into branches 18.1 through 24.0. It also introduced Lineage Flash Tools, a web-based flashing tool that lets users communicate with compatible devices through a browser without separately installing ADB and Fastboot. The tool offers ADB, Fastboot, Samsung Odin and Amlogic Burn modes for different devices and flashing protocols. Because it relies on WebUSB, the browser must support WebUSB, such as Google Chrome. Windows devices may need additional USB drivers, and Linux may need udev rules. LineageOS said the web tool is a supplementary option to existing installation processes and that device-specific official documentation remains the main guide.
