Mike Flanagan's Carrie Premieres Globally on Prime Video With All Eight Episodes
Mike Flanagan's Carrie miniseries streams globally on Prime Video October 7 with all episodes at launch.
The story was first adapted in Brian De Palma's 1976 film. Newcomer Summer H. Howell plays Carrie White, the troubled teen at the center of the story. The cast includes Samantha Sloyan as Margaret White, Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, Alison Thornton as Chris Hargensen, Joel Oulette as Tommy Ross, Amber Midthunder as Rita Desjardin, Matthew Lillard as Henry Grayle, Katee Sackhoff as Judith Brigham, Heather Graham as Mrs. Hargensen and Tahmoh Penikett as Ralph White. Flanagan regulars Kate Siegel and Rahul Kohli also appear.
Prime Video will carry the series in more than 240 countries and territories, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. The release is timed around Halloween, and TechRadar notes that Flanagan's previous work suggests the show will contain enough tension for viewers to watch in one sitting or spread out until the holiday.
A Prime Video subscription includes a 30-day free trial for new users. After the trial, the service costs $14.99, £8.99, CA$9.99 or AU$9.99 per month, depending on the market. Viewers aged 18 to 24 can get a six-month free trial, according to TechRadar. Carrie is an Amazon MGM Studios exclusive, so it will not be available on Netflix or on linear television channels.
For viewers traveling outside their home country, TechRadar says geo-blocking may restrict access to their usual Prime Video library. The guide recommends using a VPN to change the IP address and access on-demand content as if the viewer were back home. TechRadar names NordVPN as its top choice and says the service is currently offering 75% off and three extra months free, and that it unlocks Prime Video. The guide adds that VPN services are evaluated for legal recreational use and that it does not endorse illegal or malicious use or the consumption of pirated paid content.
