Milepost Driving Journal Turns Road Trips Into Shareable Roadbooks
Milepost is an indie driving journal that records routes, photos, notes, weather and music, turning drives into shareable roadbooks.
The app saves route, distance, speed, time and weather, and it lets users add notes and photos to a gallery that the app calls a roadbook. A roadbook serves as a timeline of the journey. Milepost can also connect with Apple Music to show what the driver was listening to while on the road. 9to5Mac described the roadbook as a true timeline of the journey.
Milepost adds social features. A built-in social network lets users share journeys with friends, who can comment and react to what is shared. The app also includes a garage experience where users can share the cars they have.
It supports Siri, Shortcuts and CarPlay. The app is available on all Apple platforms, including Mac, where 9to5Mac said users get a larger view for a more detailed look at a drive. Milepost also offers an MCP server, which the report said can be used to plan future trips with agents based on what users have done in the past.
The core experience is free on the App Store. A Milepost Pro subscription unlocks full drive history, the ability to share more designs, alternative app icons and driving insights. The subscription costs $4.99 per month, $29.99 per year or $199 for a lifetime, and it comes with a seven-day free trial.
9to5Mac featured Milepost in its Indie App Spotlight, a weekly series that showcases apps from independent developers. The report included the app's top features, platform support and pricing, and noted that developers can contact the publication to have their apps considered.
