Minisforum's 192GB Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 workstation lists at $9,249, with $7,399 preorder pricing
Minisforum is taking preorders for its MS-S1 MAX-P495 workstation at $7,399, below its $9,249 list price, pairing a 16-core Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 with 192GB of memory and 2TB of storage.
The workstation is built around AMD's Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 processor, which combines 16 Zen 5 cores and 32 threads with clock speeds reaching 5.2GHz. Minisforum pairs it with 192GB of LPDDR5x memory running at 8,533MT/s and a 2TB solid-state drive, a configuration aimed at local workloads rather than cloud-based processing.
Graphics come from Radeon 8065S hardware based on the RDNA 3.5 architecture, while an integrated neural processing unit handles dedicated AI acceleration. According to the company, the platform reaches up to 131 TOPS of combined AI performance, with the NPU contributing up to 55 TOPS.
Minisforum says two of the 192GB systems can be linked to work as a compact AI cluster, and reports that Qwen3.5 397B runs at 16 tokens per second locally on such a setup. Connectivity includes USB4, dual 10GbE networking and Wi-Fi 7.
For expansion, the chassis provides a PCIe x16 slot and two M.2 slots, and storage can be configured in RAID 0 or RAID 1, letting users favour throughput or mirrored data. The front panel carries USB ports, two USB4 ports with DisplayPort support and power delivery, and a combined 3.5mm audio jack. A built-in microphone system is designed for noise reduction, and four operating modes, Performance, Balance, Quiet and Rack, change system behaviour, with the last intended for rack deployments.
Cooling combines copper components, two fans and phase-change material, and the system can handle power consumption reaching 160W. A 320W power supply is included, and the chassis can be placed horizontally or vertically. Internally, a removable board tray is used, and a cascade power-on connection lets multiple systems coordinate their startup sequence.
The MS-S1 MAX-P495 arrives as several Gorgon Halo systems reach the market. HP's ZBook Ultra G3a carries a calculated price of $7,449, while GMKtec's EVO-X5 Pro mini PC sells for $6,399 under its Super Early Bird promotion, according to TechRadar.
