Motorola Expands Qira AI to More Devices Through Android 17 Rollout

Motorola is expanding Qira to select Signature, Edge and Razr devices through Android 17, while Moto G gets Android 17 without Qira.

Motorola began rolling out Android 17 in August 2026. Some select models now have the stable version of the major OS update, but the rollout is still underway. Android 17 brings improvements such as a refreshed Quick Settings panel and cross-platform Quick Sharing, and Qira is now being added to that list for compatible devices.

Qira was first introduced during CES 2026. It is an AI ecosystem that unifies Moto AI, Lenovo AI Now, Creator Zone and Learning Zone, giving users a single AI interface and wake word across those platforms along with shared memory and context. The result is intended to be a continuous experience when users switch between Motorola and Lenovo devices. For example, a user could save notes on a phone with Qira and continue on a Lenovo tablet without retyping anything or searching for the same files.

On supported handsets, Qira can be accessed by saying “Hey Qira,” through on-screen entry points, or by pressing the dedicated AI key.

The Moto G series is also getting Android 17. Based on the wording in Motorola’s press release, however, there appear to be no plans to bring Qira to that line of phones, according to Android Authority.
