MSI Roamii Be Pro Leads Prime Day Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7 Mesh Deals at $245
TechRadar reports the MSI Roamii Be Pro is the cheapest tri-band Wi-Fi 7 mesh system in its comparison, priced at $245 in the U.S. and £240 in the U.K., with no subscription fees for security and parental controls.
According to TechRadar, the Roamii Be Pro is the cheapest in its category and comes with two identical nodes, optional RGB lighting, and support for core Wi-Fi 7 features such as MLO. It operates on the 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz bands, includes wall mounts in the box and has a USB port for sharing larger files across the network. Each set covers up to 6,000 sq. ft., and the MSI Router 2.0 app provides networking, security and parental controls without a subscription.
The publication contrasts that approach with rivals that charge for features. TechRadar says the Amazon eero Pro 7 is severely restricted for users who want to adjust networking settings and requires a subscription for core features such as parental controls. The Netgear Orbi 770 matches the Roamii Be Pro's performance and layout, according to the site, but costs more and also has subscriber-only features. Another option described as the closest match in price and specs includes four 2.5Gbps ports per unit, though Tom's Hardware found its performance average; TechRadar lists that three-pack at £530 in the U.K.
Performance reviews cited by TechRadar are broadly positive. TechRadar gave the Roamii Be Pro four stars and said it excelled particularly at close range. Tom's Hardware also scored it four stars and found it performed well on tests, especially on the 5GHz band. Tom's Guide rated it 4.5 stars and concluded its data speeds compare well against rivals. For wired connections, the unit has three 2.5Gbps LAN ports and one 2.5Gbps WAN port for multi-gig internet. Wireless backhaul is competitive across short, medium and long ranges, with Tom's Guide expecting around 2Gbps at 15ft, 815Mbps at 50ft, 200Mbps at 75ft and 66.3 Mbps at 90ft.
TechRadar also points to a higher-priced alternative for buyers without budget concerns, saying it includes all Wi-Fi 7 features plus better hardware, with 3x3 spatial streams compared with the Roamii Be Pro's 2x2, and subscription-free tools. That option is listed at £410 in the U.K. The eero Pro 7 is available in one-, two-, three- and four-packs and is pitched as plug-and-play, but TechRadar notes it cannot even split bands. The Orbi 770, meanwhile, is described as a long-popular pick with performance and layout matching MSI's system, though the additional cost is difficult to justify for an entry-level tri-band mesh setup.
TechRadar's core argument is price: it says the MSI system undercuts two-pack versions of the eero Pro 7, Orbi 770, ZenWiFi BT8 and Deco 7 Pro by a considerable margin while keeping subscription-free security and parental controls. The outlet adds that the Roamii Be Pro includes wall mounts that most rivals do not, and the two-node set covers up to 6,000 sq. ft.
