Musical Spirograph Lets You Compose Generative Music While Drawing Geometric Patterns

A browser-based tool called Musical Spirograph combines Spirograph-style geometric drawing with generative music, letting users create hypnotic patterns and melodies through customizable rotors, scales, and synth presets.

According to The Verge, the tool is soothing, hypnotic, and fun to play with. Beyond the default visual and sonic output, users can customize the experience with six virtual rotors, up to three arms drawing simultaneously, and a range of pattern parameters. The app also offers six scale options or fully custom notes, six synth presets, adjustable quantization and BPM, and the ability to expand the rings to two octaves.

The Verge notes some limitations. The sound engine is not great and is prone to clipping and artifacts, and there is no way to export MIDI for controlling other instruments. Still, the publication says it is a lot of fun to get lost in for a while.
