Namespace raises $42M Series B to expand developer-focused compute cloud

Zurich-founded Namespace Labs has raised $42 million in a Series B led by Scale Venture Partners, seven months after its Series A, to expand a compute cloud built for AI agents, testing and builds — including its fleet of Mac hardware.

NEA, 20VC, Essence, Burst Capital and Susa Ventures also participated in the round, which closed seven months after the company's Series A, led by NEA. Total funding now stands at $65 million.

Namespace was founded in 2022 by Hugo Santos, a former Google engineer. The company sells a specialized compute stack for developers that runs artificial intelligence agents, developer tools, continuous integration, container builds and testing, with the aim of keeping underlying compute capacity in step with demand across the software lifecycle.

As AI agents take on more coding work, that lifecycle has compressed. Google Cloud's 2025 DORA Report found that 16.2% of respondents deployed on demand, 6.5% deployed between hourly and daily, and 21.9% deployed between daily and weekly. That pace drives continuous demand for compute able to build, validate, test and deploy while holding quality steady.

Generic cloud virtual machines address durability, but they are not generally designed around developer tools, according to the report. They must be configured and monitored, and are often sold with enterprise scale rather than developer needs in mind. Namespace said it purpose-built its cloud for ephemeral storage and runs it with high-speed networking and cache support.

The company is also investing in Mac architecture. A growing share of applications is built for macOS and Apple hardware and runs on iPhone and MacBook, yet many infrastructure providers skip Mac, leaving most iOS and macOS developers to turn to specialized providers. Namespace said it supports multiple operating system versions, including Sonoma, Sequoia, Tahoe and Golden Gate, and can handle up to 12 virtual central processing units and 56 gigabytes of memory.

Namespace currently supports build and test environments across Mac, Windows and Linux. The company said the new funding will help it expand its data centers, including its fleet of Mac hardware.
