Nanoleaf Shapes may soon work with the Philips Hue app via leaked adapter
A new report says Philips Hue may release an adapter that lets Nanoleaf Shapes lights work with the Hue app, priced at about €40.
The report, published Monday, describes a “wall light module” from Philips Hue that connects to Nanoleaf’s Shapes lights. It claims users will be able to control up to 100 Nanoleaf panels with a single adapter, including all three Shapes variants: Hexagons, Triangles, and Mini Triangles. The same article says it could not confirm whether Nanoleaf’s lighting patterns and animations would be available through Hue.
Smartlights.de also said it was unclear whether the adapter is being developed with Nanoleaf. However, the packaging shown in leaked images includes visible Nanoleaf branding, suggesting both companies may be involved.
The report follows a discovery in June, when a Philips Hue user noticed a new light-type icon in the Hue app resembling hexagonal wall panels. Android Authority noted at the time that the icon looked similar to Nanoleaf products, fueling speculation that either Hue was developing its own panels or that the icon pointed to third-party support. The latest leak suggests the latter.
According to Smartlights.de, the adapter is expected to cost about €40, which converts to roughly $47. More details may emerge closer to the reported September launch.
