NBC's Chicago Med, Chicago PD and Chicago Fire Return Oct. 7 With New Seasons and Streaming Options
NBC's Chicago Med, Chicago PD and Chicago Fire return Oct. 7, with U.S. viewers able to watch on NBC or stream on Peacock the next day. TechRadar outlines free-trial options, a $1 Walmart+ Peacock offer and VPN use for international viewers.
Chicago Med season 12 begins at 8 p.m. ET with Dean Archer and Hannah Asher balancing work and new parenthood, TechRadar reports. Caitlin Lenox and Mitch Ripley's romance develops amid Caitlin's terminal diagnosis, while John Frost mourns his father. Sharon Goodwin fights for her job after being told to step down at the end of season 11 over leaked medical documents. The season is scheduled for 21 episodes.
Chicago PD season 14 picks up from the last episode, when Voight and Imani face a decision over Imani's sister's murder of a sex worker. Showrunner Gwen Sigan told TechRadar the season is about reinvention and will bring real changes, including a brutal turn for Voight and an emotional exit for Kevin Atwater, played by LaRoyce Hawkins. A new wildcard joins the team.
Chicago Fire season 15 starts at 9 p.m. ET on Oct. 7 under new showrunner Victor Teran, who told TechRadar that unexpected storylines are coming, especially for Joe Minoso as he departs after this run. Season 14 ended with 51 Crew trapped in a warehouse fire, leaving several fates uncertain. Dermot Mulroney's Battalion Chief Dom Pascal exits early, while Da'Vinchi joins as firefighter candidate Marcus Burke and Matthew Daddario joins in an unknown role.
In the U.S., all three shows air on NBC on Wednesdays. Cable subscribers can watch NBC for free. Without cable, YouTube TV, Fubo and Sling carry NBC and offer free trials, according to TechRadar. New episodes stream on Peacock the day after broadcast. TechRadar notes Walmart+ is offering a 30-day trial for $1 that includes a choice of Paramount+ or Peacock; viewers who want these shows must select Peacock. Peacock Premium costs $12.99 per month or $129.99 per year with ads, while Premium Plus costs $16.99 per month or $169.99 per year with limited ads and downloads.
Outside the U.S., TechRadar says geo-restrictions apply. It recommends a VPN such as NordVPN to change the viewer's IP address and access home streaming services while traveling. In Canada, CityTV carries the shows on Wednesdays, with Chicago Med at 8 p.m. ET/PT, according to TechRadar. In the UK, NOW and Sky Witness will carry the new seasons, but viewers likely must wait until 2027, with past seasons available via NOW and Sky subscriptions starting at £4.99 per month with ads. Australia has no release plan or broadcast lined up for the new seasons, TechRadar reports.
