Netgear Orbi 770 Wi-Fi 7 Mesh Three-Pack Falls to $627.72 on Amazon

Netgear's Orbi 770 three-unit Wi-Fi 7 mesh system is selling for $627.72 at Amazon, about 10% below its $699 list price, according to TechRadar, which rates the kit its top mesh router for large homes.

The bundle contains one Orbi RBE771 router and two RBE770 satellites that distribute a single wireless network across a property. Netgear advertises coverage of up to 8,000 square feet, tri-band connectivity, combined theoretical wireless speeds of up to 11Gbps, support for up to 100 connected devices and 2.5Gbps Ethernet ports. Enhanced backhaul technology is used to keep the link between the router and the satellites fast and stable.

In a four-and-a-half-star review for TechRadar, reviewer Cliff wrote that the system offered "excellent performance for home users and small businesses." He added that the Orbi 770 "doesn't cut any corners when it comes to performance," that its 11Gbps speed was "more than fast enough to cope with most domestic broadband services, and even many business networks as well," and that it was untroubled by the Wi-Fi dead spot at the back of the office where it was tested.

The current Amazon price represents a $72.27 discount, or about 10%. TechRadar noted that this is not the lowest price the kit has reached at Amazon, having previously been listed there for $569.89. Best Buy and Netgear's own store both list the same three-pack at $699.99, according to the report, while a refurbished three-pack was listed at Target for $574 for buyers willing to skip new hardware.

TechRadar's buying guidance says the Orbi 770 suits households with unreliable coverage across floors or rooms far from an existing router, and homes with dozens of connected devices. It recommends against the purchase for smaller apartments or properties that already have reliable Wi-Fi throughout, where a cheaper router or a two-unit mesh system would be sufficient.
