Neurable Launches Neurable One Brain-Scanning Headphones Without Master & Dynamic
Neurable has released the Neurable One, a $499 brain-scanning headphone that tracks focus, mental processing, brain age and sleep effects. It is the company's first premium EEG headset without Master & Dynamic.
In 2024, Neurable partnered with Master & Dynamic to launch the MW75 Neuro, a high-end headphone equipped with an EEG to help wearers better understand how their mind worked. The partnership later launched a lighter unit, the Neuro LT, addressing user concerns about weight. The Neurable One is Neurable's first premium headphone without an outside audio partner.
Like its predecessors, the Neurable One is designed to track focus levels through the working day. A wearer activates the EEG first thing, and the unit monitors brain waves and attention to identify when the wearer is at their best. It also tells the wearer when focus begins to wane and advises a break so they do not pointlessly deplete their energy reserves. The headset reports the wearer's Alpha Peak Frequency, which can be used as a broader cognition metric.
Beyond break recommendations, the Neurable One provides metrics similar to those found in other wearables, but focused on brain age, the speed of mental processing and the effects of good or bad sleep on next-day function. Neurable also has a partnership with HyperX. Engadget reported in January that in a demonstration, achieving a better state of calm improved the reporter's accuracy in a first-person shooter.
The company says the Neurable One is also meant to perform as a headphone. It is equipped with 40mm beryllium drivers and six microphones for active noise cancellation, as well as ambient passthrough. Its battery is rated for 22 hours of listening on a charge, with that figure cut in half to 12 hours when the EEG is active. Neurable says that should be more than enough to get a user, and their brain, through a full working day. The Neurable One is available to buy today at $499.
