The latest model no longer requires a separate power connection and can draw the power it needs from a TV's USB port, according to the report. It supports 4K at up to 60fps and HDR10 Plus for higher contrast. The device does not allow side-loading apps like some older models.

Amazon updated the Fire TV OS earlier this year with a redesigned interface, closer Alexa Plus integration and improvements to the mobile app. Those features are supported on the new hardware.

The Fire TV Stick 4K also comes with a revamped remote featuring an asymmetrical design, a rounded bottom and buttons with a more tactile feel. For connectivity, it has Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6.
