Newegg cuts XP-Pen Artist Pro 16 Gen 2 to $369.99 with $20 gift card

The tablet is aimed at digital artists, illustrators, animators, and other creatives who want a large pen display with plenty of drawing space and precise stylus control. It has a 2560 x 1600 fully laminated etched screen, a 344.68 x 215.42mm active area, 16,384 pressure levels, ±60-degree tilt support, USB-C connectivity, and a built-in foldable stand. XP-Pen lists 159% sRGB, 118% Adobe RGB, and 117% DCI-P3 coverage, with different color spaces selectable through the company's driver.

The display uses XP-Pen's X3 Pro Smart Chip Stylus, which supports 16,384 pressure levels and ±60-degree tilt. TechRadar said those features give users more control over line weight and brush behavior than a mouse. In a four-and-a-half-star review, TechRadar's Henry said the XP-Pen Artist Pro 16 offers a big upgrade over previous iterations of the Artist Pro because of its sleek, integrated design and advanced stylus. He added that while it has largely the same specification as the 14 version, the larger, higher-resolution screen makes it more capable as a drawing tablet and illustration device.

Newegg has reduced the XP-Pen Artist Pro Gen 2 from $599.99 to $369.99, cutting $230 from the listed price, which TechRadar described as one of the cheapest prices it has seen for the tablet. Buyers also receive a $20 Newegg promotional gift card. The price protection runs through October 11.

TechRadar says the Artist Pro needs to be connected to a Windows, macOS, Android, Chrome OS, or Linux device. It is not a completely standalone drawing screen like an iPad Pro. The publication recommends the tablet for people who want a large drawing display for illustration, animation, or other creative work, citing the 2.5K resolution, wide color gamut, 16K-pressure stylus, and generous active area. It suggests buyers skip it if they want a standalone drawing screen.
