Nex Playground cut to $239 in Prime Day sale after outselling Switch 2
Amazon Prime Day pricing cuts the Nex Playground to $239 in the US and £204.24 in the UK, after the camera-controlled kids' console outsold the Nintendo Switch 2 over a Black Friday period last year.
The US price is down from $299. In the UK the console is reduced from £269 for Prime members, which TechRadar describes as a new lowest-ever price; the UK offer requires an active Prime membership to claim. The UK discount is therefore deeper than the US one, even though both fall under the same Prime Day event.
The Nex Playground ships as an all-in-one package with five games built in and playable out of the box, so no separate software purchase is needed to start using it. It relies on camera-based controls rather than a handheld controller, and its games are designed to prompt physical movement. Among the built-in titles is a version of Fruit Ninja, the mobile game.
TechRadar reports that the console made headlines when it outsold the Nintendo Switch 2 for a period over Black Friday last year, a result the publication attributes to its lower price and its bundled software library.
The discounts sit alongside a broader set of Prime Day promotions that Amazon is running in both markets, spanning Amazon's own devices, headphones, laptops, tablets and televisions.
